Just how accurate is the iPad locator? For example, the dot shows it is somewhere on the sidewalk of a particular house (I think it was stolen). There is nothing on the sidewalk. Could it be inside the house? What is the radius of accuracy? Thanks!

Who can help me figure this out? Someone in my neighborhood stole my iPad and I need to know if this service holds up in court.

Thanks,

Larry

Depends... Was it a 3G iPad or a wifi-only iPad? If it's 3G, it has a GPS, and that should be fairly accurate, though can be a bit off when it's inside. If it's wifi-only, it's relying on the location of the wireless network it's on, which can be off by quite a bit. My iPad constantly thinks it's at the neighbor's house across the street.

Report it to the police, give them the location info, and let them handle it.
