ipad frozen by iMessage login screen!

Hi, does anyone know if there is a reset button on iPad2? I recently changed my itunes login and password but it looks like this was not communicated to imessage on my ipad. The screen is now stuck with the imessage login window showing my old login email and will not let me:

type in my new login email;

login with the old password;

nor login with the new password

AND I can't cancel the imessage login window.

I can't even slide to power off.

What to do? I can't see a reset button and syncing with my laptop does not work?

To reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Fixed!

I backed up - restored, and then reset through itunes thus using itunes on my laptop to turn off the ipad since I could not do this manually on the frozen screen.
