Q: How to connect MacBook Air to local network

I need to connect my MacBook Air to my inter-house/local wireless network so I can use the printer. The printer is connected to an ethernet network. The WiFi is also conected to this network. I can access the internet (external) via WiFi but not the internal house network. Previously, my PC could do this without effort. I can't figure out how to connect my Mac Air so that I can print. Any suggestions?

Go to System Preferences>Print & Scan. Click the "+" (add) button. Your computer should see your printer, assuming that you setup your printer correctly to the wireless router.

I had done that already and the printer shows up as ready. Under the WINS it shows the name of my house's internal network but the NetBIOS (which shows my MacBookAir-xxxx) is grey'd and to the side it says that "MacBookAir-xxxx is already in use". What is a NetBIOS? Thanks.

If you have already added the printer in Print & Scan then you should be ready to print. To print anything simply click Command P in any application and look to see if the printer is selected. If you continue to have difficulty then you can troubleshoot by using Apple's Printing Overview OS X Lion .
