Can't remove doc. file from sidebar

i have a doc. file on my sidebar under 'Places' and i can't seem to get rid of it. i know for sure the file that is on my sidebar doesn't exist within my computer because when i tried to search for it i came out empty. i might have deleted it some or something.

my mac won't even let me right click on the file or anything else.

i tried to drag it to the trash but it doens't seem to work and i'm out of idea.

can anyone help me, please.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Try holding down the Command key and then dragging it off of the Sidebar. This has worked for me and many others. Some have suggested they need to hold down the Command and Option keys together and then drag it off the Sidebar.

It took me a day to get back into the Communities site, but this answer was worth it. Such a small thning, but it was driving me crazy. Thank you.

Holding Command didn't do it for me But Command Option did. Thanks
