viewing pdf files in safari 5.1.2

I am using Lion ans Safari 5.1.2

Accessing a pdf file briefly flashes the Quicktime symbol then opens the first page of the pdf file. Other pages are not accessible or viewable.

Quit Safari.

Open the Library folder in your home folder by selecting Go > Library from the Finder menu bar (Lion), or by looking in the folder with the house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window (pre-Lion.)

Delete the following items from the Library folder:

Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist

Preferences/QuickTime Preferences

Relaunch Safari and test.

Linc,

Thanks for your help. These deletions didn't work for me -- any other ideas? The plug-ins I have, in addition to what you listed, are:

Adobe Acrobat NPAPI

Flip4Mac

MSOffice Live

PhotoCenter

Picasa

Sharepoint

Silverlight

I could see PDFs in Safari until a few days ago. All I can think of is: latest security update, and I started publishing in iMovie, which uses QT stuff. rgds

I, too, recently updated Safari or upgraded Adobe (it was definitely one or the other), and suddenly was unable to render PDF's... flummoxed and beside myself with frustration, I fortunately came across your reply, followed your steps exactly as outlined below and VOILA!! It worked and I will never update another "fix" in Safari until Apple fixes this nuisance on future releases. Thank you Linc Davis!!
