Periodically (8:58 or 8:59) - iTunes is currently unavailable. Try again later

I just purchased the 3rd Season of "Justified" which is a great show and I'm happy to not have to watch commercials, but.

FACTS

1) I watched 9 minutes it just stops and goes to a black screen ""iTunes is currently unavailable. Try again later". okay

2) Resume - and I get more time, maybe 9 minutes before it dies. I didn't get a perfect time because I was into the show.

3) Sigh and resume and get 9 or 10 more minutes.

4) Went to another show and it also died

5) Cached Far ahead - Strange, but the show was already cached far, far ahead of the crash.

6) AppleTV is fully updated to 4.4.4 I think

7) I did a restore and reproduced the problem

8) I did a reset and reproduced the problem... crashes at 8:58 or 8:59 each time

PROBLEM 2 - maybe related.

I get some Netflix freezes as well, but i have a great connection. When I use my Roku, or my Macbook Pro to watch the same shows that freeze everything works. but the AppleTV cannot operate without crashing.

I am using the iTunes US store. Also, last night I noticed my music streaming from icloud stopped after a minute or so and gave me the "iTunes is currently unavailable" message as well. I am suprised by Apple support on how quickly and/or deliberately they are not trying to no address the issue. I will send messages to Gizmodo and Engadget as well as my social networks to see if Apple will take action with more visibility given to this.

so i'm a new user of iCloud but do you guys think it has to do with that. I mean if yu make a purchase and download it right to the iTV rather than leave it on the cloud - does it have the same issue? I haven't tried it (assume it's possible) but thought it may be part of the problem...In any case I STILL don't know why Apple isn't taking it seriously. Maybe when people stop purchasing content...

To reply directly to Chaider01

This has nothing to do with iCloud which was released quite some time ago.

There's no such thing, yet, as an iTV.

We can no longer "download" content to the Apple TV 2. The Apple TV 2, unlike the Apple TV 1, does not have a hard drive. All content is streamed from iTunes or from computers on the local network.

No one seems to be taking it seriously, in my personal opinion, in that I have not seen any mention of this problem anywhere else, on any other sites, aside from this one thread on Apple's forums.

Sounds like i offended you with my lack of technical savvy? Please forgive me for the incorrect reference made to the name of Apple TV 2 (horrors! they didn't name something with an "i" before it?) and the ignorance to it's inability to "download" content as well as my complete lack of experience with iCloud.

I do HOPE that simply by show of support and the number of us reporting the same or similar issues that our voice will be heard and a solution can be provided!

Chaider01 : I apologise if my reply was a bit abrupt. I simply wanted to reply to each one of your points to eliminate those symptoms so as to allow us to focus on where the problem may be and where there may therefore be a solution.

Also, for the first time, I have seen other mentions of this same problem. Please note there is a discussion parallel to ours here on the Apple Support Forums with exactly the same problem:

Apple TV Cuts off when streaming from iTunes

It appears as though Apple is starting to take notice...

haha @MilesofDenver

I started to watch it also but for some reason I had my itunes library turned off was also watching Downton Abbey and by the third 9 min cut off I just went and turned my library on I couldnt take it anymore!

I'm going to call them again today, been calling Apple care everyday...maybe they can't do much but since I paid for the support i'm going to bug them until they finally bug itunes store enough to look at things, itunes store support has comeback to them that I need to exchange my device are not paying attention to the fact that many people care complaining with the exact same symptoms.
