How to uninstall Mackeeper?

I have accidently downloaded a software called Mackeeper on my Macbook Pro laptop! Eversince, I have been bomnbarded with pop-up ads stating my computer is at risk thereby advising me to buy Mackeeper software! I have visited some discussion forums and tried to find a way to uninstall this malware without any success! Its sitting in the Application list and I cannot drag it to the Trash bin to delete it from the system.

Any help is appereciated!

Thanks

Uninstalling MacKeeper

If you can't uninstall it from the instructions at that link, try using a utility like AppDelete for Mac - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Downloads

It not only deletes the app but all associated files.

DO NOT use the Zeobit uninstaller that Carolyn has linked above! It doesn't delete everything, and it has been reported to phish for personal information while it does its halfway job. Like everything from Zeobit, it's dishonest, deceptive and ineffective for your purposes, though it serves Zeobit's nefarious purposes very nicely.

Instead, use the instructions here:
