Can't login to YouTube application

Same problem here, google says its apple's fault and apple hasn't fixed the problem despite it existing since at least July last year. Needless to say, I'm miffed at both parties.

Hello mate, I was having same problem, eventually gave up but recently created my own channel on youtube desktop site to upload a vid and hey presto!! I can now login to the youtube app on iPhone. Try it if u havent already, hope this helps.

If you've linked your Youtube account to an actual Google account, this confuses the iOS app and prevents you from logging in. Anyway, here's how to fix it.

Login to Google's 2 step verification page: https://accounts.google.com/b/0/SmsAuthConfig

After turning on verification, you want to scroll down and hit: Generate Application specific password.

Create a name for what this password will sync to and hit "Generate". Youtube will create a 4 4-digit codes (not a type, looks like: abcd efgh abcd efgh). Then go back to the Youtube app on your iDevice, log with the gmail address and type in that generated password.

This did not resolve my problem.

I had the same maddening problem with logging into the Youtube app on my iPad. Yes, I could log in to YT on a browser, but it's not the same. I finally figured out the SIMPLEST way to fix this problem without having to drive myself mad.

First off I should say I already have a google account. I have had my google acct and youtube linked for a while now. But when I changed my password, everything went to pot. (LOL)

Found out that you do NOT have to create a new channel to get the app to work again. All I had to do was go to Youtube from my computer, and go to http://cms.youtube.com and enable Content Management. Once I did that, I tried logging in to Youtube from the ipad again, and **voila** it worked! Yippee! And I didn't have to create some sort of second channel or create some funky individual password for it.

This is old but I had this problem so thought I would post the solution...

In order to upload to YouTube I had to create a Channel so that I could upload the videos. Otherwise YouTube would CONSTANTLY tell me it was an invalid username and/or password.
