My touch screen does work with tape on the screen.

My touch screen, on my 2nd Gen iPod Touch is cracked. Spider cracks, and I wanted to know if I placed packing tape (Scotch brand packaging tape) over the cracks would my iTouch still work. Yes, the answer is yes. Not pretty, but it still works!
