Do a search of these forums as there are many many other posts about this.

Basically Apple doesn't support it.

But some have done it on newer computers. I have no idea how well they run tho. Do a Yahoo/Google search for more information.

The 3.4 Boot Camp drivers do not have the necessary drivers for the newer hardware and the 4.x drivers won't work in XP.

Hi Jay,

As it is true that many of have done it. Also on this apple wesbsite it is mentioned that MAC book pro is compatible with Windows 7, windows XP and Windows Vista. I tried yesterday to install windows XP but my CD was pyrated as I could not find the origional one from Market but it was not recongnized by the system. But is is not possible that New version is not supporting Windows XP.

Hatter, how can I Install virtual Box ? Can you please guide me? Actually , I am telecom engineer and we have some softwares for BTS, Nodebs and eNodeBs , that can only be supported by windows XP.

Dals ,

I already installed windows 7 but it is not supporting my softwares.

Your best bet would be to get Windows 7 Pro as it comes with an XP emulator for older programs. W7 Home premium doesn't.

Well unfortunately not on a 2011 MBP with an original install of 10.7, from the Boot Camp 4.0, Lion FAQ, here's an excerp:

.........3. Which versions of Windows work with Boot Camp 4.0?

You can use Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, or Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate with Boot Camp 4.0. Windows XP and Windows Vista are not supported with Boot Camp 4.0. .............

The earlier models of MBP could install XP/Vista/W7. Apple dropped support for XP and VIsta completely when the Macs started coming with lion installed. So the Boot Camp 4.0 drivers aren't compatible with the XP OS.

Like @The hatter mentioned you can use VirtualBox, Parallels, VMWare, etc, that will work also as long as you don't have any heavy duty apps that take a lot of Processor, Ram or Video bandwidth. Do a search for them and see which one fits your needs. Check out their forums for any questions that may have been answered already.
