If you are asking about the Time Capsule wireless network......
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Look all the way up to the extreme upper left hand corner of the screen and locate the Apple icon
Just to the right of the Apple icon, you will see the AirPort Utility menus
Click on the Base Station menu and click Equivalent Network Password and your "key" will appear.
I don't see that, I see a green dot with my network name next to it. When I'm on Airport the menu shows Summary, Time Capsule, Wireless, Guest Network and Access Control so still don't see the network encryption key, no base station
You are looking at the AirrPort Utility window in the center of the screen.
Do NOT look there.
Look to the very top of your computer screen up where the Help menu and Apple icon are located, as I instructed.
The Base Station menu is up there as well.
Thank you, I think I"m getting closer:
I found this: I changed a couple so it's not over the internet but is this the encryption key that I need to input ALL of these when setting up my printer>>

That is the "key" for your wireless network.
But, it is very unusual that this would be required for your printer to connect. Normally, all that is required for a wireless device to be able to connect is the regular wireless network password.
But, I'm not familiar with Brother products, so I suppose that It is possible that they might require this type of information.
I would suggest that you check again with the Brother support folks to confirm if this is really the information that the printer needs.
I have a old iBook G4 and an old airport from 2004. How do I find the apple network security key/ passphrase?
Have a friends Viao computer here, and need the security key to get online with his computer.
Hi Bob,
I am looking for my wireless network key as well. I can see a "base station" menu but the show passwords is greyed out.
I am using Airport Utility v. 6.3.1
Thanks for any suggestions.
Open AirPort Utility
Click on the AirPort or Time Capsule icon
Click Edit in the small box that appears
Now click the Base Station menu up at the very top of the screen
The very long code of number or letters will likely be of no use to you....but worth a try.
Thanks!
