Q: iPhoto 9.2.1 is a bummer. I want to reinstall v9.x - I downloaded v9.1 but was advised I needed v9.0 before I can reinstall upgrades. I can't find v9.0 in app store. Does anyone know how to accomplish that download? Thanks. Bill

The Mac App Store only makes the current version of an app available. To return to an older version of an app you would have needed to make a backup of the app and stored it somewhere.

Hi, Dah*veed - Thanks for your reply. I don't have 9.0 anymore - I think it all went away with the upgrade and then I probably deleted 9.1.x from Downloads. I have issues with the app store - particuarly the time to download large apps - you would think once you paid for an app you could still download from Apple itself which is much faster; however, all that aside, it doesn't help me now. My whole iphoto library was "destroyed" by the upgrade to 9.2.1. I can't believe that Apple has allowed this to happen, and, when finding out that there was an issue either not pulling the app or rectifying the situation with an upgrade. Not like Apple at all. Having said all the above, any ideas on how to go about getting v9.0 so that I can then upgrade to 9.1.1 & 9.1.5 which I have on hand? Could my iphoto library be hiding somewhere? I also have Carbonite and Time Machine but not so sure it or they work before v9.2.1? Any ideas would be helpful - I do have some of the SD cards and some older back up CD's that I made, but the whole library was organized just the way I wanted it. Thanks again for your reply but anything you can add would be wonderful.

    Thanks, Bill

All content in the iTunes/Mac App stores, regardless of the developer, are being downloaded from Apple's servers. That is one of the purposes for the new $1B server farm in N Carolina.

How did the update destroy your library? The iPhoto library is located in your Home folder, separate from the app itself; Mac HD/Users/~user/Pictures/iPhoto Library.

I am unaware of any issues with the iPhoto updates. I have used all of them and have no issues with iPhoto. I am currently at 9.2.1 and it functions without flaw.

Thanks, Daveed - must be something I have done. Still, I want to go back to 9.1.5 and there is no way to do it now. Before the apt store one could go to Apple and re-download whatever was needed. If you go to the app store, one can no longer do that - and if you go to the app store, you can find many unhappy customers. Further, you have to go through hoops to try to contact them - very frustrating. In hindsight, had I had the option, I would have tried another way to the application. Anyway thanks for trying to help - appreciate it.

    Regards,

    Bill

    Bill JJ,

I was having the same problem, went to my iPhoto library as described above, double-clicked it, and noticed an icon bouncing in the taskbar. The icon is for Photos, which I guess is what iPhoto is now called.

So, then I got a message that I needed to upgrade, and got the following link, (which I am about to try):
Using the iPhoto Library Upgrader tool - Apple Support

    Best wishes,

    Todd
