ipod touch 4th gen charging problem

My Ipod touch (4th Gen) has been dead battery for a few days be didn't charge it up, i've just tried plugging it into my pc and nothing happened, just the connect to power to charge screen came up for a few seconds then the screen just went off. I've plugged it into a USB adapter wall plug, and it has the same problem, i recently downloaded an iTunes update, could that have something to do with it or is my iPod touch kaput?? replies ASAP, really worried :/

- After charging fro an hour see if a reset with either bring it to life all allow iTunes to see the iPod so yu cn restore it.

- Next try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then restoring. For recovery mode:

iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore

than IIIaass, but it didnt work, still getting the same screen and iTunes isn't picking it up 😟

i think its charging now, thanks for the help, i think the USB cable and the port in the ipod may have had something small stuck in it, dust or small particle, but its charging, and hopefully everything it fine 🙂

Can you guys help me i have a ipod 4th gen and when i press off/on button i just has a blank screen. Its a 8 gb and is too old to update. I tried charging on my charger but nothing. My iphone (iphone gen 4s) charges on it. Im not sure if it is either the battery or port on my ipod pls help. Thx! :)
