Maximize window key shortcut

This is probably a dumb question but is there a keyboard short for maximizing the window?

Mac Mini 1.25, Mac OS X (10.4.4), I bought a Mac. Now I hate Windows.

Hi there, if you go to System Preferences, Keyboard & Mouse and Keyboard Shortcuts, you'd have a list of all the keys and its shorcuts. As far as I know, there's not default key for "Zoom" (the Mac OS X equivalent to other Window Managers Maximize/Minimize).

You can define one for "All Applications" with the Menu Title: Zoom
Please notice that the case is important. Unfortunely, not all applications support Zoom from the Window menu (Safari, Mail, etc. do, but others don't).

In any case, you can customize a shortcut for each application individually, but there's got to be a menu command for it.

Hope this helps.

Please remember that Keyboard shortcuts set in System Preferences will only work with applications launched after the setting is applied, not in applications that were already running. So you have to close and reopen the application. Log off and Logon will do the trick 😉
