Users missing in login screen

I've recently added two new users (Standard) to my iMac. When I boot up, the only two options to log in are my account and a guest account. After I'm logged in, the other two names will appear in the fast user switch dropdown, and if I click Login Window from the user list, that login screen does have all three accounts (plus guest account) available.

Auto login is turned off, Display login window as: List of users.

Why are the other two accounts not appearing in the initial login screen?

Thanks!

I had the same problem. Unfortunately the mouse problem requires always a screen trick to solve it. Example: I have active corners; going to one of the functions (like showing active applications, or dashboard, does the trick).

I also had the missing users at start login screen, but showing at any later login.

After talking to support, and trying many things, it could only be solved after a clean installation with a restore of data only.

Good luck!!

If I understand you correctly, the problem is now solved after doing a clean reinstall, right?

Installing a new OS can result in problems largely due to corruptions when writing to disk, bad sectors or - in the case of 10.7 and 10.78, corruptions of the data while downloading. Any one of these things can cause bugs that are not inherent to the OS itself but in that particular implementation on that machine.
