Unable to import using Panasonic HDC-TM900 with Mac 10.7.2 os, and Final Cut X, which says it is a supported camera.

Trying to import using Panasonic HDC-TM900 with Mac 10.7.2 os, and Final Cut X, which says it is a supported camera. I understand it will not support 1080p but I am unable to import the AVCHD files automatically or manually. Finder sees the camera but FCP does not. Odd thing is iMovie sees camera and can import video no problem but FCP does not. It worked only twice out of 20 tries and I thought it might have been that I was going through a hub but that wasn’t it and have been unable to isolate what if anything I am doing wrong. Have others had same problem and found any solution?
