My iPhone 4 is completely dead. I've tried everything I can think of but it won't turn on. It had been working ok until I shut it down at night and in the morning I couldn't get it to turn back on. Is there a way I can get it back on or is it completely shot? Thanks.
Reset the iPhone by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider. Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.
Plug it in to power for at least 15 minutes. If it doesn't turn on, try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
I tried that and nothing happened.
Try charging it via a wall socket for 15 mins minimum and then try to reset as paulcb suggests.

What does "not work" mean. Does it come on? Do you get an errors?

It was working fine, the battery was about 75%. It completely shut down on its own (black screen), no error messages. Now I cannot get it to come back on. If I plug it into iTunes nothing show up. It acts like the battery is totally dead, but I'm sure it's not.
When I hold down the home and power buttons nothing happens.
Plug it into mains power for an hour and see what happens.
