Are they going as SMS messages (green bubbles) or iMessages (blue bubbles)? If they are iMessages, odds are good that either you or the recipient (though if it was you, the person you suspect is 'intercepting' the messages would probably be a member of your household) has inadvertantly set up more than one iDevice using the same Apple ID and iMessage is doing exactly what it's supposed to in replicating the messages across all devices using that ID.
My texts are deffinately going to the correct ppl, thats why the only thing i can think of is this other person is someway being able to read my messages and they have not had access to my phone, thanks.
there are numerous applications available online to purchase for as low as $40.. all you need is 5 minutes with someones phone to download the app on their phone and set up the settings and from then on, hidden from view, all the texts that the person sends and receives along with many other pieces of data and info, depending on the app, is sent to your phone or computer as well. Anyone who tells you that isnt true or difficult is a fool. Even apple will say its difficult. DOES it sound difficult?: WHAT DOES SEEM DIFFICULT IS determining if such an app is on your phone and getting rid of it
Thanks, i just googled it and seen there seems to be ways it could be done, and wondered if anyone would know, i am thinking about calling my carrier but i dont have any actual evidence just things that only the person would know if i had text them but i havent, might just ask to change my number just to be safe.
If your iPhone is not jailbroken there is no way for anyone to intercept your text messages except by getting them from your carrier, and, in the US at least, this can only be done by law enforcement agencies with a warrant (as affirmed by the US Supreme Court today, January 23, 2012).
Note that this is SMS - text messages - only. If you use iMessage there seem to be some glitches that can sometimes cause iMessages to be misdirected. If you are concerned about this turn off iMessaging in Settings.
The person who i think is doing it knows things that i have only told 1 other person my text this has been going on for a while but i just kept putting it down to coincidence there was 1 message i sent today and the other person knows about it and i just cant think of any other way, i know it sounds ridiculous but its the only way i think this person could know what im talking to other ppl about.
Thanks my phone is not jailbroken but i used to have an iphone3 that was and it was happening then i have since upgraded to an iphone 4 which is not jailbroken. I do use imessage but the person who i think maybe able to read them has a blackberry.
There are a couple of possiilities - it could be that the "1 other person" is forwarding your messages, or that this person's phone has been hacked and is forwarding them without that person's knowledge.
Hi KiltedTim,
Thanks,
I think you may be onto something here, ok so the person im messaging is coming up as a blue bubble imessage, and the person i think is reading them has a blackberry however her husband has an iphone which was set up using my itunes account as he didnt have a laptop etc when he got it and as far as i know hes never synced it to another itunes so could it be that shes able to see them through his iphone if there sent as imessages?
Ok thanks, kinda makes sense now, i knew someting strange was going on but just couldnt figure it out but this all seems to sound like whats happening, i have disabled my imessaging for now and will get him to set up his own account.
Someone has managed to find a way to read my text messages as well. I have changed phones, and I have changed Apple account passwords. This has been going on for several months, so lately I started planting things in my text messages on purpose. Now someone is "finding out" these things. This person has no access to my phone. It is locked out by fingerprint and lock code that is changed weekly. I truly believe that some IT person (a suspect) has managed to tie into my text messages and is emailing my conversations the the someone in question. I am an IT guy and I know the internet says it CAN be done, but I can't for the life of me, figure out HOW they have done it and how to stop it. I can't change my phone number, I use it for business.
Someone was able to send a text message to my friend that looks like it came from my phone! She sent me a screenshot of the message and it referenced things we had texted about (and neither of us told a soul about). Im an IT guy, and I had no idea something like this was even possible. Should I just tell her to go to the police?
Yes, there is a way. My brother reads all my texts. He has some sort of Lockbox that intercepts anything that bings on his network. I called my carrier and they said to turn off WiFi. That didn't do anything but force me to stay on his network. Your carrier is not going to know how to help you or at least mine didn't.
why don't you call your carrier? They would be the ones with this information, not a user to user Apple technical support forum.
That'd be a quite a difficult proccess to intercept a text message.
You should test this by having a family member send you a text and see if you get it.
