How do I copy pictures from internet to pages?

Hi! I just bought Ipad 2, and downloaded the Pages app. I want to copy pictures from the internet, or Keynote presentations from the internet. But when I try, all I get up on pages is som random text or code.

Can anybody help me? Im new in the apple world, so this is the first time I´ve ever used Pages.

Thanks!

Some images cannot be copied at all, but many can. Touch and hold the picture for a few seconds and there will be a little pop up. Choose save image and it will be placed into the camera roll.

Go to the camera roll, touch and hold the photo and press copy. Then go to your document to the place you want the picture, touch the screen and select paste.

If you do not want a copy of the pic on your camera roll, when you first touch the pictue, select copy, then go to your doc and select paste.

Some site do not want you to copy images.

When you select copy from the popup your are copying the URL or the web address of the image and not the image itself. That's why you get text when you paste in pages. Select Save Image to transfer the image to your iPad and then copy/paste it into your Pages document. Keep in mind the copyright of the images on the web and do not violate the property rights of others.

I,m from Montana too. :). Here is my concern with my new iPad and pages: I need to permanently document numerous purchase listings from myebay account. I want the purchase photo image thumbnail and text description in complete format copy pasted to pages doc. exactly as is seen in the eBay cell. When doing this on PC in "Word" I easily drag highlite the eBay text and image of the purchase , hit copy, go to document and hit paste. It is there exactly as on eBay.

Unless pages supports this same quick method, I will have to put iPad on the shelf and go back to "word". It's difficult and time consuming enough without split screen to assist my doc production on iPad. Pages seems to be very cumbersome with multiple steps described here to copy paste in stages, web text and adjacent image. (I have tried it)

Also, the item description text on the web page cell in the original sale listing won't copy paste at all. "word" does it in a snap with a simple highlite. Clearly, it isn't a web page or photo restriction.

I am disappointed since the purpose of iPad and the separate keyboard was to support my business docs and inventory.

Hopefully, there is an app out there that is up to date in this regard. Lugging a PC around is not the answer.... Apple or Dell.

Very undone. :(
