Do we have to charge the ipod for 12 hours or something liek that, before we use it for the first time?

No. Just charge till the battery is full.

But some people say, You must charge electronic devices for at least 12 hours do that the battery could last longer.
Question: Do I need to "prime" my iPod's battery by letting it charge for 24 hours before I use it the first time?
Answer: No. Just charge the battery until the indicator says the battery is full.
