My fans are running at full speed and eating up my battery life, can you help?

My fans are running at full speed and my battery life is being eaten up... i tried some solutions online, but when trying to fix it nothing i could find helped. it is not because of idle printers, and it says the the user is using about 52% of the cpu idk if that is normal, but that is what my activity monitor is telling me!
