Please Help--Can't fill out or submit/save .PDF forms

Hi-

Running Safari 5.1.2 on Mac OS 10.6.8 (the latest updates according to software update) and using the Schubert PDF browser plugin. http://www.schubert-it.com/pluginpdf/

Before updating from Safari 5.0.xxxx I could fill out and submit .PDF forms in Safari without any issues. Now, I cannot. The form comes up but I cannot enter any text into the text fields.

About a month ago I went through this and had to revert back from a time machine back up because the ability to fill out forms in browser is an everyday necessity for me.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?? Please help...

Go to ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins

Move the Adobe PDF Browser plugin to the Trash.

Restart your Mac, launch Safari.

See if that helped...

~ (Tilde) represents your Home folder

Thanks.. that almost did it... I can fill out the form, but I can't submit or save for later.

Any suggestions?? So close......!!!

Try emptying the Safari cache... from your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache

If that didn't help, back to the menu bar, click Safari > Reset Safari

Select the top 5 boxes, click Reset.

No go... restarted after emptying cache and I reset all of Safari with the exception of passwords.

Any other ideas?

I can export this into my adobe pro app and click on the save later form button and it attempts to access the link but I get the same error I've always gotten since I started working with these forms... don't know if that helps any. Main point is the link is there on the form, Safari just doesn't seem to want to access it.

First Adobe asks me if I want to allow or block access to xxxxxxx website. I click allow, and get the error :

Error opening URL to submit this form.

This is typical and when I first troubleshot this with the software company they told me I could not export the form and then submit.

Try turning off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security

Then try again.

If you have anti virus software installed, disable that.

No anti virus and firewall was off.

This is working fine in Chrome if that helps any... However I would really like to use Safari

Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.adobe.Reader

Move the Cache.db file from the com.adobe.Reader folder to the Trash.

Try again...

If that didn't help, Safari preferences could be corrupted.

Go to ~/Library/Preferences

Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.

Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

If that didn't help, go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari

Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.

Try again.

There is no ~/Library/Caches/com.adobe.Reader that I can see

Open a Finder window.

Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left.

Then open the Library folder, the Caches folder, then the com.adobe.Reader folder.

Aside from that try Schubert support... http://www.schubert-it.com/support/

Ok.. I still cannot get this figured out. I'm baffled and frustrated!!

I did a deep cache cleaning using Snow Leopard Cash Cleaner, all of your reccomendations, and about an hours worth of reading. I had the schubert-it plug in uninstalled and have gone back to reinstalling it with no luck. I was thinking after all the cache cleaning it might work. Nope..

I can't beleive this is an issue after an update.. Apple is normally so great with this stuff.

The com.adobe.reader folder does not exist on my computer.

This problem occurs with any online form, not just the ones I need to access and submit, and it occurs with the native PDF support in Safari as well as the schubert app.

Any other ideas? I read on one post where someone fixed it with quicktime, but the video he put up to show how he fixed it was no longer available.

Carolyn, or anyone else, .. any ideas??
