I'm having the same problem. Started today (as far as I know). Was working previously. Perhaps it is a server side problem.

I did a search for this and found several discussions that say you must change your privacy settings to enable "sharing" of favoriting and subscribing. Even if you don't enable any of the sharing apps.

But this didn't solve it for me.

It renders Youtube pretty useless.

Yep. I think this is bubbling into a worldwide issue. Something happened in the past day or two which causes Apple TVs to not connect to Youtube outside of playing back videos in your system's local history and Featured list on the main screen. Even when you play said history video, it can't connect to give you your typical other options you get when you finish watching the vid.

Kind of wish ATV2 used a similar protocol for Youtube connections that the iPhone and iPad do as they seem to be unaffected by whatever happened.

Same thing happened to me. And it is still down. First to go was the history, featured, most watched etc. But I could still search for videos and even access my own account. Today all content is inaccessible. But all other content apart from YouTube works like a charm.

I've tried changing settings to my YouTube account but I can't see how that would effect the general content. Even so, YouTube worked perfectly fine before - without me doing any changes to my settins in wifi, ATV etc.

Same. History seems to work as well as the same featured content as yesterday when you go back to the main menu. Everything else gives me the same error and search doesn't work at all. Tried resetting multiple times and logging out as well.

If you have an iOS device with (I believe) 4.2 or higher the workaround is to use AirPlay. There seems to be a bug in iOS 5 where any app that plays AirPlay will stop playing after the device locks. This seems to affect every AirPlay app I have used whether it supports multitasking or not. To stop this you can turn your Auto-Lock off under general settings.

I would contact YouTube but the only way I know how is to send them a Tweet, which I just did. Seems to be nothing on their support site about Apple TV.

Same problem almost everywhere....

I completely lost access to you tube, no content at all, funny that I can login on youtube without problems, but no favorites, no my videos etc etc.

All the rest works absolutely fine, from renting to ratio to WSJ to mobileme to flicker.

Several reboots, full restore, reset didn't change the behaviour.

We have to trust the Apple support thay says they are aware of the problem.

Same problem in CA. Zero content on YouTube via the Apple TV. The Apple TV has access to the net just fine, and my Sony BluRay player on the same switch has no problem displaying YouTube. I looked at some packet caputures from the AppleTV while accessing YouTube and could see traffic to a host in the 1e100.net domain (google), but it was using HTTPS, so I couldn't see what the content of the traffic was.

No content found on youtube....ANYWHERE!
