Q: I installed Mackeeper. is it legit and do I need it?

I recently downloaded Mackeeper. I was worried because I run windows parallel on my imac. Is Mackeeper legit, do I really need it. If not how do I remove it?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Seems like a pointless utility to me. I've been using Apple machines since OS 6 days, and OS X since it was a beta, and I've never had a need for such a thing running on my machines.
