I cannot understand why the Airport Extreme (which is manufactured by Apple) is not compatible with Airprint (which is also an Apple technology).
It looks to me like if the iPad would not be able to use airplay with an apple TV...
Someone could explain that to me? I do not think it that complicated for Apple to bring Airprint support to its own device.

The AirPrint technology came after even the latest versions of the AirPort routers. It may be possible that Apple may add is as a feature in the future to existing models, or as part of the release of newer models.

Airprint has been introduced on 2010 with iOS 4.2 update.
The last version of the airport extreme has been released on June 21, 2011

I think also that it makes no sense that airport is not compatible with Airprint. If I can print with my Mac why cant I do it with my iPone or iPad? IOS should have that built in.
