Unable to purchase.

I deleted every app that I thought was corrupted with the iTunes account on both the iPhone itself as well as through iTunes on my laptop. I figured the problem ones to be the ones that were faded and said "waiting" every time I tried to updates or download a new app. I then did a restore from backup and downloaded the apps again from my purchased cloud on my iPhone and have not had a problem since. This was PlatnumK's recomendation and it has worked for me going on a week now. I also do not have the strange app store bugginess that accompanied the unable to download prompts (couldn't look at comments, couldn't look at in-app purchase info, unresponsive buttons, crashes, etc.). I never like to restore from backup as I have about 200 apps on my 4S, and then I have to copy all the music over again, but the 45 total mins of pain was worth it. It also is a good audit exercise of what apps I actually need on the device all the time or not.

I'm pretty sure it's a database issue. See my post on pg9. I've not had the problem since and you don't have to jailbreak or reset you phone to new, just delete the database file (and the iphone recreates a new one) and reboot.

I agree with just_jeepin. I tried everything from this thread and nothing worked. Deleting the database solved my problem as well. Try it and report back.

PlatnumK's idea worked for me, too. Is your STORE app working ok? Since I followed the procedure, my store app doesn't search for updates anymore. I have to press on UPDATES and then, if there are apps that need updates, they will appear.

I'm going to try this out and I really hope it fix the issue. By the way, for the iExplorer, does it require for the iDevice to be jailbroken, in order for it to work? How does it function, by the way. I'm new to the whole Apple world. Thanks.

No jailbreak required. Just hook your iphone to your computer via usb. Launch iExplorer, click on the triangle next to the name of your iphone, then Media, then Downloads. Then delete the .sqlitedb file. Close iExplorer. Reboot the iphone/ipad.

Awesome. Thanks, mate. I'll revert once attempted. I'm seriously hoping to get rid of that annoying message. One last thing, to reboot the iPad would be to do what, exactly? Lock and unlock the iPad?

Since the last few updates I found I have to have the app store app open to see if there are updates. I don't think that they are pushed like they used to be. Maybe to save battery? I am theorizing.

To reboot: Push and hold the power button until you see 'slide to power off', then slide to power off. Then after it's shut down, just push the power button to power it back on.

Since I followed PlatnumK's procedure, I have not seen the error message (over a week). Coincidentally (?), I no longer get a badge on the App Store App showing I have apps that need updates. I have to not only open the app but also tap on the UPDATES button on the lower right of the screen. THEN, I will see the apps, a badge appears on the UPDATES button and, if I go back to the home screen, THEN I see a badge on the app's icon.

Did our procedue do this???

I don't have an iPad but an iPhone. THAT procedure only works to power off my iPhone. To reboot, I have to press the POWER and HOME button simultaneously, KEEP holding it when you see the slider button until you see the Apple logo. Is the iPad different?

There are two kinds of reboot. The type of reboot that you are talking about (holding down both the Power Button and the Home Button) reboots the phone and clears the RAM.

That's odd... why would an iphone and ipad be different? On an iPhone, the holding the power + home button, is what you do to force quit a stuck app or phone.

Hi mate. I'm attempting the iExplorer method now and there is no 'Media' under my iPad list. Under it, it has 2 listing, Root Directory and Apps and neither of these 2 has 'Media' within it. Please help.
