color management

I hava a canon M6250 printer. How can I disable the color management ("no color adjustment) of this printer? There is no such option in the print menu, and I want aperture to do the color management

Aperture 3, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

With Canon printers this is actually pretty easy,

-- Look at the first print menu screen, it should look something like this:

Under "Rendering", look at the box marked "Profile." If you have selected anything EXCEPT "Printer Managed" then Aperture is managing the print. N.B. be sure that you use the correct printer/paper profiles from either Canon on your paper manufacturer. Don't use some generic like "sRGB" or "Adobe."

Notice that ColorSync, not Canon Color Matching, is selected.

Once you are comfortable with this, there are ways to use an ICC profile and still get the Canon driver to make color changes. Takes a bit of computer slight of hand, but it is not hard and can be useful when using a paper that does not have an ICC profile.

Hope this helps.
