itunes for debian/ubuntu

I have ipod nano 8gb and it does not work with debian/ubuntu because iTunes is not available for Debian/Ubuntu. I have to use XP via virtualbox to transfer music to ipod and it is not easy and time consuming and slow too.

Is there any plans of Apple to release any type of itunes alternative or support for Debian/Ubuntu or any plugin for rhythembox to trasfer music to iPod.

It is vary big problem with apple products that they do not support linux and this is the reason that I don't buy another apple product again. Apple iPOD has nice looks ,slim & good interface as compared to other iPOD's but its software(iTunes) is very very bad even on windows.

I don't use windows because it gets infected easily by viruses etc and becomes slow after some time.

I have a mac(tiger) laptop which is now outdated and don't want to buy another apple machine again. Windows & Mac creates only problem after some time. I lost MAC installation cd, no way to download OS again ,so I decided to install Linux on it and its working fine now. I don't play games so Linux is best suited for me. There are may people who use Linux, have a look below:

Apple should do something for linux users in this case. Its good for their business too, few more buyers :). There are software available for linux to transfer data to old apple ipods. Only iPOD Nano is not supported by them. Its not like that I am not able to tranfer songs but have to use other ways.
