Google Earth hangs on my iMac. How do I close it ?

If the usual method of closing the App doesn't work, you can always do a "Force Quit". (This actually will stop any runaway application that you apply it to.) Just press and hold Option-Command-Escape for a moment and that will bring up a dialog box asking which open application you wish to quit. Select Google Earth.
