How much battery life should I expect on my new MacBook Pro? Should I keep the power adapter plugged in when I'm using it? Should I let the battery completely run down before recharging? If I am recharging it while I'm using it, when battery life reaches 100%, is it bad to keep the power adapter plugged in?

Battery life depends on usage, don't run the battery all the way down, and when it is fully charged you can leave it plugged in, no damage will result. Don't run the battery completely down.

Because liPoly cells can collapse if the cell voltage drops too low.
Hmm, I didn't know that. I was always told that you are supposed to "train" the battery by completely draining it every so often to extend battery life.
That was for NiCad and Nimh chemistry batterys. Lithium Ion is completely different.
Just noticed that my battery is only showing 99% power even though power adapter wa plugged in all night. Is this normal. I did see another archived post on this subject, but it was in 2007.
Yes, that's normal. Charging stops whe the battery is full, and doesn't start again until the charge level falls below 95%. During that interval the battery slowly drains, as all batteries do whenever they aren't being charged.
