When I was trying to copy music to my phone I some how managed to do somthing to the iTunes media folder. My iTunes and iTunes media folders were empty so I downloaded all of my music back from iTunes. All my music plays fine but my iTunes media folder is still empty? Can anyone please help?

What do you mean you Download all your Music from iTunes?
Are you sure you actually download the music or just the iTunes database list of the music that use to be on your computer.
I went to itunes and under purchased I clicked download all. I got most of my music from itunes. Everything plays on my itunes but my itunes media folder is empty.
Have you checked in the Music folder under your user name and check the Downloads folder.
If the music was originally in the Music folder the iTuns download may of put it in that folder. And then since it was a download the OS default place to store downloaded files is in /Users/YourUserName/Downloads.
You are probably looking in the wrong iTunes folder. There is one at the root level of your start-up disk (usually: Macintosh HD) and one in your user account folder (your user name> Music> iTunes). This is assuming you have not manually relocated it.
Both of those folders are empty (Music is empty and downloads has no music in it just the files i downloaded from chrome) I know it is somewhere on the computer because it plays in iTunes. Is there any way to check where the file is stored like show in finder or somthing like that?

Yes. Right-click on a track in iTunes and select Show in Finder.
I have not relocated any folders. Now after a restart there are little ⚠ next to each song and says that the file can not be located. Music will not play now.
When ever i click show in finder this comes up: "The song “Sing” could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" And when i click yes it shows a finder window, but i dont know where the files are located.
Did you check both possible folder locations?
You could also try a Spotlight search for any of the song files that you can remember.
I could not find anything in spotlight. I whent To finder Username>Music>iTunes>iTunes Media>Music. I also checked Username> Downloads. There was no music in ether.
The other location was at the root level of your start-up disk. Did you check that?
What I think you have done, and it's really not you but iTunes and iCloud, is whenn you supposedly downloaded your music what really happened is the iTunes library got downloaded and when you go to play music it is streaming it from the web.
But I may be totally wrong.
One way to check is re-download just like you did the last time and then disconnect the computer from the net. Then try to play a song.
I use lion and it dosent have the macintosh hd icon on the desktop where would I be able to find the "root level"
Open a Finder Windows and Click on Macintosh HD.
I am redownloading from iTunes right now. I do use iCloud so that may be whats wrong.
