Upgrading to S.L. - Time Machine or clone hard drive first

Hi all

I have a 3 year old white macbook with the 120 GB hard drive and it is almost full.It doesnt have anything real important on it as we have 2 desktop macs. I am going to install Snow Leopard tomorrow and do a clean install.

My question is what will be the best way to back up so that I can reinstall only certain things.Should I do a timemachine backup or use Carbon Copy Cloner. I want to put back my programs, bookmarks, user preferences and other things. I am looking for any recommendations.

Thanks Again

Dave

Hi Dave,

I'm firmly convinced a clone is the best option, & boot from it before upgrading to SL to make sure everything is as expected.

TM is too flaky to trust, but a nice 13th option. 🙂
