Unexpected Error Occurred -8003

Fuuny thing is going on with my Lion install on a 27" iMac. When i try to copy something from any one of my user folders/files to a drive/USB drive, i get this error:

the operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8003)

I can not empty my trash either, i get the same error. I have restarted the iMac and repaired Anybody else seeing this or know how to get rid of this error?

No it wouldn't explain that, sorry was just addressing the USB stick. Although, the two issues don't necessarily have the same cause.

After some prolonged search i've found this on the trash emptying issue:

It's a rought work out, but it seems to have solved that gentlman's problems. I'll continue research on the USB issue.

OK, if i hold down the option key and click empty trash, that worked. When i opened terminal (before i held the option key down), i see this:
