Q: gifting apps

Hi my hubby has just gotten his first iPhone and I want him to get a couple of apps ie consume (to keep track of data usage and  call/sms usage) and words with friends.  He hasn't got an iTunes card at the moment so thought I would gift him the apps.  Is there anyway to send multiple apps to him or do I have to send them individually? If we have the network sharing or whatever it's called can he "copy" the apps from my itunes apps instead?  I'm not very technological so any help in really easy instructions would be a great help.  Thanking you in advance
