Q: Is Mackeeper safe and necessary?

There are so many conflicting statements out there. Does Mac Lion need anti-virus protection? Is Mackeeper safe and effective?

No, a Mac does not need AV software.

No, MacKeeper is not necessary.

No, MacKeeper is not safe.

No, MacKeeper is not effective.

It is scamware promising wild and wonderful things but delivering only problems instead.

It is to be avoid at all costs.
