Sep 20, 2006 11:59 AM in response to andyclarinet2003by Daniel Kaplan,Not running ny Unix stuff, I see no problem with the
bug Daniel writes about on reversing characters in
file type and creator.
The bug is not a Unix problem. It affects any file that one tries to transfer between the Mac OS X file system and SheepShaver. Does anyone know of a fix?

As Gilda Radner's character on SNL used to say...
"Well, that's different...never mind."
If you can't easily transfer files from OSX to SheepShaver window...then it's a bug that needs fixin'!
Thank you for keeping up on this thread, you SheepShaver people, you.

Sep 20, 2006 8:18 PM in response to Daniel Kaplanby eww,My appeal is simply for the developers of SheepShaver to fix their bug.
Oh, I see. I thought you had said:Or else, Apple should help those of us who still have essential OS 9 software.
And because I mistakenly thought you had said that, I responded to it. I wasn't offended. I just couldn't understand why you hadn't gotten used to Apple's clearly stated position after all these years. But now I see that you didn't say that.
As I wrote above, I'm another of those die-hard Apple users who still need OS 9. That's why I'll keep one of my two OS 9-bootable and Classic-capable Macs even after I buy an Intel Mac. -
Oct 3, 2006 12:01 PM in response to Peter Cole2by Kenneth Monner,I don't care about Classic in general but I run my business using Hypercard stacks, and it would be considerable effort to port them to some other app. My big wish is that Apple would port Hypercard to MacOSX. -

My big wish is that Apple would port Hypercard to
MacOSX.
I liked Hypercard too - and there were tons of cool stacks out there, and easy to modify, etc. It's really funny it just quietly went away - sort of a whimper.
Just imagine how zippy Hypercard stacks would be on one of these really fast new machines! Do you think it's Java that kind of killed Hypercard?
Since you run your business on a no-longer-supported piece of software, time is not really on your side is it? When your Mac dies (they all die eventually) you won't have any other choice but to get into this SheepShaver stuff on one of the new Macs.
iMac Mac OS X (10.3.9) Loves being able to still run OS9 and OS10 together -
Dec 30, 2006 8:48 PM in response to William Taylor1by Peter Cole2,Does anyone know if I can connect an old mac running
classic apps to an Intel mac so that the classic app
will show up as a window on the new mac?
If anyone cares, the classic app I can't give up is
Microsoft Word 5.1, the best word processor I've ever
used. It's now 14 years old, I think.
Use Timbuktu.
