I just bought a Macbook Air off craigslist, it is stuck on Kiosk account rather than admin. I cannot log into the admin account, even when I reboot the computer it automatically logs in to Kiosk. I can't change anything without admin password, it shows that it has 3 Admin accounts, BestBuy, experience, and My Mac. However it won't let me change anything or even log into the internet without an admin password, what can I do to fix this problem?
did the seller tell you what version of OS X it was running? Snow Leopard, Lion etc.. And did you get any grey discs with it?
it says the version is 10.7.2, and it came with just the macbook air. I didn't mind it not coming with a charger as I figured I'd use the one from my Macbook Pro for it.
you are lucky it came with Lion. shut down the mac. Turn it back on while holding the option key and boot into recovery mode. reinstall the operating system. Read: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718 Hopefully that will get you in and let you create a new admin account. "Kiosk" makes me think it was a display model at Best Buy.
(in the article it says to hold control+r), but just holding the option key is easier and does the same thing.
