Jan 29, 2012 7:54 AM in response to rony-zby carley.w,This Apple article will list all Samsung printers known to Apple to be compatible with Lion...
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669?viewlocale=en_US#samsung
It shows the SCX-4500 series.. not sure if that encompasses your printer as well (althought I assume it does).
Have you tried this download?:

Jan 29, 2012 7:57 AM in response to rony-zby rkaufmann87,Please look over Printer and scanner software 10.6.x, this will tell you whether there is a supported driver or not. If you don't see your specific model look for the series, for example it may come up as SCX-4500 series. I would ignore Samsung's driver and use the one supplied by Apple, I did see the SCX-4500 series is supported for Print & Scan. After you have installed it use Image Capture (Applications - Image Capture) as your scanning app.
Also please use Printing Overview OS X Lion for the correct instructions on how to add the device. Read the article carefully and follow it to the letter!

Jan 29, 2012 8:41 AM in response to rony-zby rkaufmann87,You did not read carefully the advice letter says:
Products Affected
Mac OS Printing/Fax (any version), Mac OS X 10.6, OS X Lion
In other words if it works for SL it should be the same for Lion.

Jan 29, 2012 12:36 PM in response to rony-zby rkaufmann87,Here is what I'd recommend, if the device can be seen in the Print & Scan preferences then right click it and choose Reset printing system... like the example below. Then try again if that does not work then I would recommend uninstalling the printer completely by highlighting it in Print & Scan, click the - symbol below it (look in my photo below for that) and then restarting the computer in Safe Mode , this will clear some caches that may have become corrupt in the process. This will also have you beginning with a fresh pallete. Make sure the printer is not physically connected to the computer during this process. Next follow the instructions for adding a printer using Apple's instructions in Printing Overview OS X Lion. Do not use Samsungs drivers!
