Jul 15, 2016 4:51 PM in response to rbrylawskiby LM04,We just learned the hard way and have a movie rented thru iTunes on our AppleTV which won't play due to an issue with our internet connection. Why does it still need to connect to the Internet if it's already downloaded?
I seriously doubt we will be renting/purchasing movies this way again.

Jul 15, 2016 5:06 PM in response to LM04by Diana.McCall,Hi, unless your Apple is the original silver one, it is a streaming device. It does not download movies, it plays them from cloud servers. So it needs an internet connection to play your rental. You can download a movie to a computer using the iTunes program, then stream it to Apple TV using Home Sharing. That might be useful if your internet is not ideal.
