How to stop ical from sending email notifications for updates on my share ical calendar

Looks like Dadidkor's "Email me when this calendar changes" in iCloud Calendar shoud work, but no luck. It's driving us crazy.

Happening for me too - but only one way... When I add/modify/delete an event in any one of my 7 shared calendars, my wife, who is sharing those calendars, gets an email. When she modifies her single shared calendar, I do NOT get emails. And yes, I have the appropriate "Email me when..." lines UNchecked on her calendar. It's hard to tell when this behavior started, but we only noticed it yesterday. Nightmare!!!

Yep - count me in as well. Started sometime on March 14th. All settings in iCloud are correctly set to not send email notifications but every change made - even subtle changes - light up my wife's and/or my inbox. I think I had 21 notifications when my wife added a couple of events (and changed the time around a bit for an event or two).

Come on apple - fix this.

I have the same issue. How do we get Apple acknowledge, respond to and fix this issue?! It's really annoying when you share calendars with a group of people!

This is not amusing. My wife and I have shared both our calendars, and this just to see, what the other has in the diary. To get email notification by any little change is more than "super fluid" - it's absolutely unnecessary. I have unchecked everything which can be unchecked, but the problem persists. It just started yesterday (March 15) and could not be stopped up to now. Seems that Apple has a problem to solve....

I had the same problem a few months ago, i also found out how to stop it and posted the answer.

Log into icloud

Click calendar

On the left it shows the name of each calendar (home for example) with a little green and white icon that almost looks like a wifi symbol.

One at a time left click once on the one/s that you share with your wife or whoever and hey presto there is an option to stop emails.

Simon, this is what I checked, or better unchecked first. It did not help at all.

I agree with gerhardfromtiefenbach, this is does not seem to be the same problem as you had Simon. 'Email me when this calendar changes' is already unticked in mine. This is definitely a widespread - and new as of 3/14 - bug. There are several threads about it form the same day

Can anyone in this post still claim support from Apple without service charge? If yes, please raise the issue to Apple, and share the result in this post. Thank you.

I tried it and tested it and it doesn't change it. The emails still pop up.

Just got off with Apple Support. They acknowledge having received "many" reports of this issue, but have no idea what is going on. The agent (very helpful/cheerful/supportive) indicated he would be submitting a ticket on my behalf. He hoped they'd have a resolution/fix soon...

I talked with Apple Support yesterday as well. Have unticked the 'Email me when this calendar changes' box in iCloud for all calendars on both my wife's account and mine. No success.

My rep found the complaint all over the place, as we did. He and his colleagues are mystified.
