Moshi is good, but the plastic is brittle. My corners have cracked and broke on half the corners. The rubber feet keep moving, the adhesive doesn't keep them in place if you move your laptop across a table. In fact I lost a rubber foot. I'm not saying it's not a good case, it has room for improvement.
Speck seems to be a very popular choice with folks in here. https://www.speckproducts.com/
Speck
Don't get one. It won't protect your MBP from a drop, will trap dirt anf grit between you MBP and the shell and worse it will interfere with heat dissipation through the aluminum body making your MBP run hotter, thus decreasing its life span. The laws of physics are against you in this case. Spend your money on RAM instead.
Ciao.
I already updated the RAM on this computer. I might just invest in a heavy duty carrying case
MacTruck, it also allows you to use the machine angled in the case door and doesn't block the cooling ports. 🙂
The MacTruck looks good, I like that it is a carrying case also, any others, not sure if i want to drop $200 on one
i just ordered speck from apple online store... will update u in a few weeks of what i think off it... that is if your still looking for a opinion on a case...
The Spec hardshell case is among the sleekest I could find. I love it. It snaps on and off super easy. But you don't have to worry about it falling off, it is definitely on there! Looks really nice too I like how you can see the apple logo on the top still. If you're on the fence between a few other cases, go with Spec....you will not regret it!
As a Speck user for nearly a year I can say without a doubt that Speck cases for Macbooks are definitely not the best choice! After a couple months the contact points begin to gouge into the aluminum leaving visible marks and ruining the finish. Any reviewer that has used their case for a period of time notes this.
From now on I'll go with the Moshi iGlaze cases which are a close to perfection as you can get with a hard case!
If you aren't looking to spend a lot of money I really like the Kuzy Hard Case. I think it does a better job of protecting the Macbook than a lot of other ones that cost 2 or 3 times as much.
I got the TopCase Hard Case. Fits great and came with a matching keyboard cover.
Nice eye candy but they keep heat inside and void designers specs. covers and keypads tops all change the dispersion of heated elements. They should and can be removed while heavy tasking of GPU and CPU ventures. Look nice ,but hinder notebooks ability to disperse heat from those chipsets.😉
I totally agree. That's why I use a Thule Sleeve. It protects better than a case and you can use your MacBook while inside.
