battery not charging but green light
My MBP can be green lght/charged and then green light stays lit but goes over to battery power. Does not display status, just displays not charging.
Anyone else have this going on?

Ok... well I know what your talkiing about, at least i think. Unplug it, does the bettery icon show that its 100% remaining, or is it literaly not charging. also check the side or bottom (if older MBP), there should be a small round button that blends with the computer, press it, it will show how many bars you got from 1-5 green dots should appear next to the small button. if it literaly isnt charging, try taking to a Genus Bar at an Apple store close by
Your machine may use the battery when it's plugged in, but only under extremely heavy load. At such times the machine requires more power than the AC adapter can supply, charging stops if it was going on, and the battery is drawn upon to make up the power deficit. This is usually seen when running extremely demanding games or doing other things that stress the GPU to its limits.
Soon as I notice the "not charging" and green light on AC mag connector I remove the AC and the battery indicator calculates and displays correct info. It is like the computer just stops using the AC adapter......but the light stays green! Battery healthy and acying normal. Run it down, hook it up and it charges fine. I have made sure that no movements have disconnected the AC adapter, as this has happened three times now over the past week or so.
When the battery is full, the charging circuitry automatically stops charging, but the light remains green. This prevents overcharging and overheating of the battery. It will start charging again when the charge level falls below 95%.
Correct. And you can run it for hrs or days plugged in and the battery will stay charged. In this case, for some reason, instead of staying on AC power while still plugged in the machine "drains" the battery and displays "not charging". Normal operation is while on AC adapter, battery does not get used. My machine uses the battery while still plugged in.....but not all the time, just every once in awhile. Most users say they run plugged in most of the time and calibrate the battery once a month. Think I will just get a backup power supply.
Like eww said if it is fully charged, it will stop charging so not to waist energy or harm the battery.
Thank you!
