i have mine,4.3.5,but everytime i click on update on my itunes,they said it is the newer version..how can i upgrade to ios5?

Googling shows that it is an 8 GB 2G iPod. Apple only made 32 and 64 GB 3G iPods. A 2G can only go to iOS 4.2.1

What version of iTunes do you have? You need version 10.x. If you have a Mac yu need OSX 10.5.8. OSX 10.4.11 on supports version 9.x

I think you really have a 2G and 1G iPod. A 2G can go to 4.2.1 and a 1G to 2.2.2 via iTunes and 3.1.3 via:
