Q: connecting 6 pin plug to 9 pin jack

I have an older iSight camera which I want to connect to my new mac mini.

The iSight has 6-pin firewire 400 plug.

My mac mini has a 9 pin firwire input.

Is there an adapter that will allow me use the fw400 device with fw800 input?

What is the best source for this?

OK. So I went on Amazon and see they sell 6 pin female to 9 pin male adapters (which is what I need).

    They cost about $7.

I would also like to extend the length of the built in cable on the iSight.

I am wondering if anyone knows of an adapter that also serves as an extension cable?

Question: how much can I extend the built in cable on the iSight without degrading the signal?

Finally, is my older iSight (I'm thinking I got it in 2003 or 2004) worth buying cables for?

i.e, Is the quality of picture I will get from the camera worth buying adapters, etc. for, or should I just buy a new webcam?

    Hi,

I would tend to look at some of EZ Jim's Posts on this as he has said which one he has had success with.
