My home button is stuck

A few months ago i noticed that it was hard to press the home button on my ipod touch 4G. Then one morning when i pressed it, it went in but never came back out. Is there any way for me to fix it or will i have to take it to apple. I have another problem, my warrenty on it expired last march. Will i still be able to get them to fix it? PLEASE HELP ME
