Any OSX after leopard took this feature away. (AppleTalk was removed). You can try to set up your printer as a ip printer, but I haven't had any luck with that either. I have to share my printer from a computer that is running Leopard or Tiger, to be able to print to it from Sno leopard, or xp parallels. It's sad that they haven't come up with a simpler solution. If apple has, please let us know.

I had it working, no problem. But it has all gone pear shape when i installed office 2010 on to the windows 7 pc. I keep getting a message saying incorrect drivers installed but the one used to work. Some setting on the mac has been changed but i can not find it. I had the mac printing at a friend house with a stand alone wifi printer with it's own IP address but buying a new printer would be a waste of money when my current printer is fault free and prints like a good one on the windows set up.

Well good news...

I finally figured out how to get my old printers, printing again through Snow Leopard.

I actually had to fire up my old G3 and run OS9.5 in classic. The command center application for my printer was never upgraded to run on MAC's past OS9.

With the command center software I was able to change the Printers IP address to one that was compatible with my local Apple network. 10.0.1.201. The last 3 digits must be anything above 200. My printer by default, uses 192.168.0.201, which seems to be what most Windows Boxes networks use by default.

I learned later that the command center software was also available for Windows, and I could have changed the printers IP address using Parallels/Windows, or any other Windows emulator.
