I buy a MBP about two years, came from Winfows. Now mi problem is with my photos, in Windows I haved in folders very simple but with iPhoto is a headache, It´s just not make sense this program it´s imposible, duplicate photos all the time, missing photos, now with iCloud it´s even worst.

There is any programa better than this?

We've found that most times it's the user's system configuration that is contributing to the poor performance of iPhoto or Photos.

What's your system configuration? Download and run Etrecheck. Copy and paste the results into your reply. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC and recommended by Apple Support to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.

1 - you obviously have no idea at all how iPhoto works and need to learn how to use it

2 - pretty much every claim you make is totally false - iPhoto does not duplicate photos all the time - iPhoto is not a file manage system like you used on windows but a photo management system and you NEVER access the files or the folders they are in - you use iPhoto and the supplied APIs to access photos in the SQL database - and if you do not like iCloud do not enable it

Obviously you would rather complain than solve your problems

There are lots of other programs - look in Google or in the APP store - iPhoto is a free program when you purchase your Mac - if you do not like it simply do not use it

You need to learn how to use iPhoto. It's not like PC photo applications which are just file/folder management. iPhoto is a DAM (digital asset management) application that is based on a database. There is no dupliaction of photos unless you have your phtoos on the hard drive, import them into iPhoto and the do not delete those original files. iPhoto copies the image files into its library so it can manage the photos. Once you import a photo from your hard drive there's no reason to keep it. It will be safely imported into iPhoto.

I suggest to view these iPhoto tutorials to get a feel on how to use iPhoto:

Must say that I love the idea of iPhoto, but man is it buggy, have to agree that it is possibly the worst Apple program I have worked with. Never have I had a program crash as much as this one. Especially when it comes to the faces feature. What the ****? Everytime I have the program look for extra pictures of my wife or daughter, the program just fails after taking several minutes of the program not responding. If I knew it would work as bad as it does, I wouldn't have invested countless hours sorting through faces, and asking iPhoto to ignore rocks, magazines, roads, and other things it thinks are faces. Not to mention all the people that happen to be in a picture as part of a crowd. Hope Apple figures out how to make the program work better. Would love to have the program learn which faces to ignore, and to have it figure out how to automatically orient the pictures.
