I live in the Philippines. I would like to purchase the iPhone 4S which is locked on the Globe network.I will be moving to Canada within a year and would like to use my iPhone.How do I unlock the phone and not void the Apple warranty???

As far as I know, Globe does not offer unlock support. Only carrier can unlock the iPhone that is locked to them. You have to call them and tell them your situation.

You need to talk with Globe and see if they offer unlocking. If not, then you can't use your phone in Canada. Only the carrier to whom the phone is locked can initiate the unlocking process.

Unlocking it would require a hack that will void the warranty as well as any AppleCare agreement as well as forfeit your right to support of any kind from Apple or on these forums.

The only way to use your phone on your local network and then on a different carrier later on is to buy an unlocked phone.


