ipod not recognized in disk mode

in regular mode the apple icon stays on - the disk seems to restart the recovery cycle automatically, but it never finishes and then starts over

Your iPod Hardisk is in poor health, dying in the near future, but currently in a state of Comatose.


  1. Recharge your iPod for at least 2 hours then
  2. Reset the iPod - Press Menu and Center buttons for about 10secs till the Apple logo comes ON.
  3. Do a disk diagnostic, as posted earlier by tt2

It wont fix your problem, but it may assure you that you are burying a dead iPod, unless you replace the hardisk.
