I have a new MacBook Air which I am using on my home network and I can share files with my PC, but I can't view files on my Mac.

Turn on file sharing on the Mac. System Preferences - Sharing - File Sharing
I did turn on file sharing and it gave the address to use from the PC, but it won't work.......... The address using the IP or name comes up as an error.
Then you have an issue on the Windows setup. We aren't MS Windows guys here, however here is an Apple advice letter that may help.
I know it's a windows issue, but still haven't found an answer.
